Bruges

Extremely romantic, the city of Bruges is made up of old city houses, canals and bridges, which are all immersed into an ancient atmosphere, result of an historical centre which has never been destroyed by either wars or fires. Today the medieval centre, made of winding cobbled alleys and squares, is on the World Heritage list. Home to contemporary culture, gastronomic temples and trappist breweries, Bruges should be an hit on everyone's list to better understand why Bruges is also known as the "Venice of the North".
